(From the official description at Cosmic Encounter
Online) - If you reveal a negotiate pod and your opponent reveals an attack
pod, you win the encounter. If you both launch negotiate pods, you try to
make a deal, as usual. If you reveal an attack pod, treat the encounter
normally.
What does this means? As long as you have a negotiate pod, you have the
ability to beat any attack pod in an encounter. Yes, even the 40.

|

 |
 | You may use your peace power when you reveal a negotiate pod and your
opponent reveals an attack pod.
|
|

 |
 |
After you reveal your negotiate pod, your opponent my zap
your peace power, thus concluding the challenge in the normal negotiation
vs. attack pod situation. Compensation is taken as normal.

This can be a fun power to have. Against human players,
it can result in a mind game of if you have played a negotiate pod or not.
Smart players will know that if they drop an attack pod and you do not, you
win. They also realize that if they drop a negotiate pod and you do not, you
again win. The only hope they really have logically speaking is hoping to
play the same as you do. Try to keep them off balance as to what you are
going to play. If you manage to slam a couple of people with your peace
power in a row, switch it up with an attack pod next. There is a good chance
they will expect another negotiate pod from you and will play one of their
own. Afterwards, switch right back to the peace power if you are able to.
One of the vulnerabilities of this tactic however is sooner or later, your
precious reserve of negotiate pods will dwindle from exhausting them
yourself and from people taking consolation when you switch things up with
an attack. Either play the defensive ally as best as you can or do your best
to run through your pods as quickly as possible to draw that fresh new hand |

The Pacifist can be a hard Alien to beat sometimes. The
vaulted 40 attack pod is practically useless against it. Instead, try not to
waste your high attack pods against them. Beating them will be more of a
matter of luck then any skill, (unless of course you have the ability to
know if the Pacifist will be playing the dreaded Peace Nuke or not) so try
not to worry too much about them. Dedicate your strong offense against the
other opponents in the game until you manage to pull a Cosmic Zap. The
Pacifist while having a strong power, also usually overly relies on it's
power to win challenges. Take it away, and victory should be a snap against
them.
